Al-nisa Petty is a classically trained actor and voiceover artist based in New York City. In Arabic, Al-nisa means "The Women", so it's only fitting she became an actress. Growing up in Newark, New Jersey, she attended Arts High School before receiving a BFA in Acting from Rutgers University. While at Rutgers, she spent a year under the tutelage of master practitioners at Shakespeare's Globe in London, including Tony nominated Tim Carroll. When she is not trying out a new skill or recipe, one of her favorite pastimes is participating in new play development. She has had the pleasure of working with Ensemble Studio Theatre, Playwrights Realm, Metropolitan Playhouse, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and Berkeley Repertory Theatre, to name a few. Al-nisa is also a teaching artist with Naked Angels where she shares her love of storytelling with youth in the foster care system.
